Privacy policy

What we collect

When you book, we collect your name, email, phone number, shipping address, organization if you provide one, and the details of your rental. If you chat with our online assistant, we store the conversation transcript and session identifiers to answer your questions and check equipment availability; contact details (such as your name or email) are collected only if you choose to provide them in the chat, and a customer record is created only once you supply that information. During a rental we receive aggregate data-usage totals from the satellite provider for your kit (used for plan, top-up, and overage billing) and the approximate location of the kit itself, reported by the satellite network at a cell level rather than exact GPS, which we use to manage and recover our equipment. We do not see the content of your traffic or the sites you visit. When a device joins your kit's WiFi and signs in through the network page, we log the device identifier the router reports so we can bring that specific device online and manage the rental.

How we use it

To fulfill rentals: processing payment, delivering equipment, activating service for your dates, and sending you updates about your order by email and, if you gave us your number, text (order and delivery updates, data-limit notices, return reminders, and one review request after your trip; reply STOP to any text to opt out). We also keep rental records for accounting and to make repeat bookings easier. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing you did not agree to.

Who processes it

We rely on a handful of processors, each receiving only what its job requires: Stripe for payments (card numbers go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers), EasyPost and its carriers for shipping labels and tracking, Uber Direct for same-day local delivery where offered, Resend for transactional email, Clerk Chat for text messages, Mapbox for place suggestions while you type where you will use the kit, and Starlink for satellite service and the usage and approximate-location data for your kit on your rental dates.

Retention and your choices

We keep order records as long as accounting and tax rules require. We retain limited hashed opt-out and anti-replay records after deletion to honor STOP requests and block old messages. To access, correct, or delete personal information beyond that, email support@wifiwithoutwalls.com and we will handle it directly.

Cookies and ad measurement

The storefront sets a small number of first-party cookies, each with a specific job: a sign-in session cookie (www_customer) when you verify your phone number, kept for 30 days, so a returning visit recognizes you and can prefill the booking form; an attribution cookie (ww_vid) that records a visitor identifier and which ad was clicked, kept for 90 days and attached to your order if you book so we know which ads lead to bookings; a recognition cookie (www_rental) set when you follow the "view your rental" link from our emails or texts, kept for 30 days, which lets the site greet you with your live rental status; and first-party experiment cookies (ww_site_visitor, ww_site_assignment) holding an opaque identifier and variant choice to maintain a consistent site layout and compare aggregate booking and request outcomes across variants, without storing location, IP addresses, or contact details.

We measure which ads lead to bookings. Ad network pixels (Google, Meta, Microsoft, Reddit, Spotify, and ChatGPT) may set their own cookies to measure ad performance. After a booking, we send the ad network a scrambled (hashed) email or phone number and the booking value so it can match the click, never anything readable.

A browser Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal turns both the pixels and the conversion sharing off. You can also ask us to stop anytime by emailing support@wifiwithoutwalls.com.
