Moab is the overlanding capital of the country and one of the best places in it to run a dish. Between Arches, Canyonlands, and the sea of BLM dispersed camping on either side of 191, most of where you actually sleep has no service at all.
This is the trip where people run a basecamp for a week: a group, a couple of rigs, someone who has to take a call Tuesday. That is exactly the setup the Mini handles.

What the dish will actually see here
Close to ideal. High desert, low vegetation, and enormous open sky mean a dish here usually sees almost everything with no fuss. The exceptions are geometric rather than botanical: down inside a canyon (the Shafer switchbacks, parts of the Needles, a slot campsite tucked against a fin) you get the same wall problem as Zion, on a smaller scale. On the mesa tops and out on the flats, it is as easy as satellite internet gets.

How you get it
Shipped to you. Kits ship nationwide ahead of your dates. Portable power stations and solar panels are local delivery only in Colorado.

- Very well. Those sites are open desert with clear sky, and there is no infrastructure to depend on, which is the whole point.
