Glacier is big, remote, and mostly unserved. West Glacier and Apgar have something; Many Glacier, Two Medicine, and most of Going-to-the-Sun have effectively nothing, and cell coverage on the east side is worse than the west.
It is also a park where road and pass status changes fast, and where knowing before you drive the length of the park is worth the rental on its own.
Sky and obstruction
Mixed, and terrain-driven. Glacier's valleys are classic U-shaped glacial troughs with very steep walls, so a site at the bottom of Many Glacier or Two Medicine has a real chunk of the horizon taken out by rock. Combine that with dense conifer at valley-bottom campgrounds and it is the one northern-Rockies park where placement genuinely matters. Lake shores, meadows, and anywhere the valley widens are your best bets.
