An outdoor wedding reception at a mountain ranch at dusk, long tables under warm string lights

Starlink Rental for Remote Weddings

The barn is beautiful. The bandwidth is not.

Remote venues, ranches, barns, mountain lodges, and private land, are chosen precisely because they are away from everything, which is the same reason they have no usable connectivity. Then the day arrives and the photographer needs to upload, the caterer needs to run cards, and grandparents are supposed to watch a livestream.

This is one of our most common single-day rentals, and one where we would rather you over-plan the power than under-plan it.

Sky and obstruction

What the dish will actually see here

Venue-dependent, and worth checking in advance. Ranch and field venues are open and simple. The two that catch people out are barns, where the natural instinct is to put the dish indoors or under the eave where it can see nothing, and wooded or canyon venues where the tree line takes the horizon. Set the dish outside on the tripod with clear sky, and run the cable in.

The sign-in page shows what the dish sees in real time, so you can reposition it before a meeting or call.

How you get it

Shipped to you. Kits ship nationwide ahead of your dates. Portable power stations and solar panels are local delivery only in Colorado.

Frequently asked questions

Is it good enough to livestream a ceremony?
Yes, comfortably, for a standard single-camera stream. Test the stream at the actual dish location the day before rather than on the morning of.
Can I get it delivered and set up?
In the Denver area we can deliver, and that is also the only region where the power station and solar panel are available, since they cannot ship.
