The coastal plain is flat and open, which is easy, but east Texas pine gets tall and dense and a site under it will lose sky. On the coast and out on the plain it is straightforward. Head west and it becomes some of the best satellite country anywhere.
Once you are set up, the captive portal on your router draws the real obstruction map from your own dish, so you can see exactly which part of the sky is blocked and move before it costs you a call.
