Seattle's outdoor hinterland is close and it is dark. The Olympic Peninsula, the North Cascades, and the San Juans are all within a few hours and all lose usable coverage quickly, and the ferry system adds a planning problem that is genuinely easier to solve with a working connection.

The Pacific Northwest is the most variable region on this list. Old-growth Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, and hemlock, especially the mossy rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula, form the densest canopy we deal with, and under it a dish will be seriously obstructed. Then you step onto a beach at Rialto or up onto Hurricane Ridge and it is perfect. In this region, more than anywhere else, the difference between a great result and a useless one is fifty feet of walking.
Once you are set up, the captive portal on your router draws the real obstruction map from your own dish, so you can see exactly which part of the sky is blocked and move before it costs you a call.

Shipped to you. The Starlink Mini kit ships anywhere in the country ahead of your dates. The portable power station and solar panel are local-delivery items in Colorado and cannot be shipped, so plan your own power for this trip.

- Yes. Heavy rain can cause brief degradation, but Northwest drizzle is not a problem. Tree canopy is the real obstacle here, not weather.
