Mount Rainier rising snow-covered above evergreen forest and a wildflower meadow at sunrise

Starlink Rental in Seattle

Ferry out of the city and the bars go with the mainland.

Seattle's outdoor hinterland is close and it is dark. The Olympic Peninsula, the North Cascades, and the San Juans are all within a few hours and all lose usable coverage quickly, and the ferry system adds a planning problem that is genuinely easier to solve with a working connection.

The kit ships here before you leave, runs off an outlet, an inverter, or a power station, and goes back with a prepaid label at any carrier.

Sky and obstruction

What the dish will actually see here

The Pacific Northwest is the most variable region on this list. Old-growth Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, and hemlock, especially the mossy rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula, form the densest canopy we deal with, and under it a dish will be seriously obstructed. Then you step onto a beach at Rialto or up onto Hurricane Ridge and it is perfect. In this region, more than anywhere else, the difference between a great result and a useless one is fifty feet of walking.

The sign-in page shows what the dish sees in real time, so you can reposition it before a meeting or call.

How you get it

Shipped to you. Kits ship nationwide ahead of your dates. Portable power stations and solar panels are local delivery only in Colorado.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work in the rain?
Yes. Heavy rain can cause brief degradation, but Northwest drizzle is not a problem. Tree canopy is the real obstacle here, not weather.
