Street canyons in the city. Hemlock hollows once you are upstate.
A sidewalk in Manhattan has towers on both sides and no sky. The trips this page is for leave the city: Catskill hollows, the Hudson Highlands, the Delaware Water Gap, and the Adirondack lakes.
Coverage drops once the road leaves the valley towns. The woods up there are eastern hardwood and hemlock, and a hollow camp sits under the trees and, in the Catskills, under the slopes as well.
Sky and obstruction
In the city, a dish needs sky the towers do not give it. A street in Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn is walled in. An open roof can work when that roof actually sees past neighboring buildings. Many street-level sites never do. Upstate the obstruction changes. Catskill hollows, Adirondack camps, and hemlock along the Hudson Highlands close the view from above. A lakefront dock, a field, or a deck above the crown sees sky. A lean-to under the hemlocks has little.
The sign-in page shows what the dish sees in real time, so you can reposition it before a meeting or call.
