Where to find location guidance and your booking, how paid data top-ups work, and when you can extend a rental.
Before you leave, you need to know where a dish can work. Mid-trip, you need to see what's left on the rental before buying more data or changing your dates.
Location pages for the place you're going
Our location index brings together pages for national parks, events, and metro areas across the country. A park page talks about tree cover and obstruction. An event page covers conditions on the ground. A city page talks about the terrain you would actually take a rental into from there.
The Olympic page, for example, distinguishes rainforest canopy from the open coast. Use that context to plan, then check the actual spot where you'll put the dish. Starlink's Mini setup guide (PDF) recommends the app's obstruction tool for choosing a position. A destination page cannot check the branch over your campsite.
Find your rental, then open its portal
Your account page groups reservations into Out now, Coming up, and Past trips. Sign in with the email address or mobile number you booked with. For a rental that's out, choose Open portal when that link is available to see its remaining data and time.
Add data from the portal
When an active rental is near its data cap and self-service top-up is available, the portal offers another data block. The purchase button shows the amount of data and a price marked + tax. Read that before tapping: the button charges the saved card directly, without another checkout screen. If self-service is switched off, the portal shows call and text options instead.
The data-cap rules allow access to the sign-in page and supported messaging services even when browsing is restricted. Messaging still needs the dish powered and connected to satellites. A top-up adds data allowance; it cannot fix a blocked view of the sky or a power problem. Check those first if the connection drops while data remains.
More days, if the kit is free
The portal also has Extend your trip. Its purchase options show the new end date and a price plus tax; selecting one charges the saved card. Another booking can prevent an extension, so check availability before changing your travel plans.
Buying a data block leaves your return date unchanged. Extra days are a separate purchase, and you need confirmation of the new end date before keeping the kit longer.
